The director of technology transfer is responsible for maintaining an effective technology transfer program to acquaint Kansas producers with the technical and economic potential of enhanced recovery methods for Kansas oil and gas fields. Additionally, the director of technology transfer will also participate in proposal writing and identifying suitable industry partners in the development of field demonstration projects.

Job description:
The director of technology transfer is responsible for maintaining an effective technology transfer program to acquaint Kansas producers with the technical and economic potential of enhanced recovery methods for Kansas oil and gas fields. Additionally, the director of technology transfer will also participate in proposal writing and identifying suitable industry partners in the development of field demonstration projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
(45%) Develop proposals and acquire outside funding for the technology transfer program and field demonstration projects. Develop and implement annual plans and budgets. Maintain and interact with an industry advisory board. Work with other professionals on multi-disciplinary projects. Attend industry conferences and meetings
(40%) Develop and conduct industry short courses or workshops on pertinent technology topics for the oil & gas industry in Kansas - make presentations at workshops, develop advertising materials for workshops. Conduct an annual oil & gas trade show. Oversee website information related to technology transfer. Develop job prognoses, conduct and/or supervise field work and well testing, conduct reservoir and economic analyses. Liaison between academia and the oil & gas industry in Kansas. Edit and publish newsletters. Handle inquires from industry. Develop and document case studies, fulfill reporting requirements
(15%) Supervise technology transfer support staff. Maintain and expand an industry mailing and email lists.

Required qualifications:
· BS degree in petroleum engineering or a related engineering discipline; and an academic background or work experience related to petroleum reservoir/production engineering as evidenced by application materials
· Proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
· Good oral and written communication skills documented by engineering reports or technical papers and presentations at technical conferences
Preferred qualifications:
· Experience with technology transfer
· Experience in communicating and working with Kansas petroleum operators and other professionals in the field
Demonstrated knowledge of Kansas production operations
